enrichments

Every major city is bursting at the seams with natural history, museums, cultural festivals and seasonal events. The Enrichment program area of TUSI is designed to encompass a breadth of fundamentals that are aimed to enlighten Pioneers about everything their city offers. This includes but is not limited to: visiting historical homes, walking along a landmark-filled educational trail, exploring museums, attending sporting or cultural events, and learning about erected monuments and old war ships. To express your interest, or receive more information, fill out a “Get Involved” form!

Below are a few specific examples Enrichments that TUSI plans to provide for its Pioneers:

  1. Attending a theatrical production at the historic Wang Theater in the theater district. Previously known as 'The Metropolitan Theater', it opened in 1925 and has housed the Boston Ballet since 1962. In recent years, the Center has expanded its ethnic programming to include multicultural showcases and community gospel events.

  2. Exploring the North End during the Fisherman's Feast of Madonna Italian festival. Beginning in Boston in 1910, this Feast is an annual event based on a 16th century tradition that was brought to the Americas by emigrating Fisherman.

  3. Visiting and touring Paul Revere's house at 19 North Square. Built around 1680, it is downtown Boston's oldest building, although it wasn't inhabited by Revere until 1770. Ninety percent of the structure (including doors, window frames, flooring and rafting) is still original.
